Grand Jury Declines to Indict Cassidy Hutchinson Over Her Jan. 6 Testimony
A federal grand jury in Washington on Tuesday refused to return the Justice Department's proposed indictment of a person prosecutors had brought before it. A DOJ lawyer told a magistrate judge in open court that the jurors did not concur, without naming anyone. Officials and people briefed on the case told four news organizations it was former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson, whose 2022 testimony to the House Jan. 6 committee Republicans have called false. She was never charged, and a no-bill does not stop prosecutors from trying again.
